Jacqueline Fernandez was born 11th August 1985, is a srilankan actress, former model and beauty queen who won miss srilanka Universe in 2006.Fernandez marked her debut in sujoy ghosh's Aladin, for which she won an International indian film academy award for best female debut and Stardust award for Lux exciting new face in 2010.She shot to fame with Mahesh Butt's film Murder 2(2011) in which she grabbed a lot of attention due to her sex appeal.

• She subsequently feautured in films such as Housefull 2(2012), and Race 2(2013) and earned appreciation for her performances.
• Major bollywood productions roy and kick feauture her in lead roles.
• She also had bagged lead roles in According to mathew, which is her hollywood debut and approached to act in Prince of Malacca.
• Apart from doing full fledged roles in movies, she rose in prominence in feauturing in songs including Dhanno, Lat lag gayee and jadoo ki jappi.
• She thus established herself as a promising actress of indian cinema.

Early life :

• Fernandez is born to a srilankan Burgher father and a malaysian mother.
• At the age of three , her family including her three siblings moved to bahrain , where she spent most of her childhood.
• She moved to Australia , for her college degree in Mass Communications , and then moved back to srilanka where sheh worked in modelling, television reporting and modelling.

Career:

2006-10: Early work and film debut:

• Fernandez made her acting debut in 2009, bollywood fantasy movie Aladin opposite Rithesh Deshmukh.
• She played a character inspired by the Disney princess character of jasmine.
• For her performance , jacqueline received mixed reviews , with Anupama chopra of NDTV calling her a "plastic debutant".
• However , india Glitz disagreed and said "cherubic jaqueline lives up to expectations and she's sure to sway with a successful endeavour ahead.
• Taran Adarsh in bollywood hungama complimented more on her looks, rather than her performances on saying "Jacqueline fernandez gets no scope, but she looks gorgeous nonetheless.
• Apart from her stunning beauty , she talented to the core,
• Rediff criticized her by writing "She gamely makes a fool herself whislt aping the actions of movie star's .
• Ranging from sridevi's naagin dance , Mithun chakravarthy disco dancer moves to Big B's violent head shake in HUM.

2011:Present : Breakthrough and Success:

• In 2012, fernandez appeared in Housefull2 with Akshay kumar , Asin and Rishi kapoor .
• It grossed (US$28)million worldwide.
• Also fernandez received positive reviews for her performance.
• Gaurav malani of Times of India stated "Jacqueline fernandes wins the race with her gorgeous looks".
• Mrigank Dhaniwala of Koimoi said " Of all the girls , Asin and Jacqueline get the meatiest of roles and they do not disappoint.
• Taran Adarsh of bollywood hungama gave a mixed review by saying "Amongst the female leads, Asin has the meatiest roles and gives a decent account of herself, Jacqueline , Shahzan and zarine act more as eye candy.
• They are the typical sultry and enticing selves ; each one is befitting in her own space .
• As of July 2013, fernandez had begun filming for sajid naziawala's action film kick opposite Salman khan .
• And pre-production work for Vicky singh's romantic action film roy opposite Ranbir kapoor.
• Fernandez is also currently shooting for Chandran rutnam's , Crime thriller According to mathew , which is her Hollywood debut.

Philanthrophy :

• Fernandez on the behalf of people for the ethical treatment of Animals(PETA) asia, and sent a letter to the consulate general of the Philippines in columbo, srilanka to expidate the transfer of the Elephant Mali from the inadequate manila zoo to a lush sanctuary.

• In 2013, fernandez auctions a breakfast in mayfair , London which she raises for helping pratham NGO involving for children's primary education.

• Fernandez made her first commercial alongside Hrithik roshan for Sony ericsson.
• Later, she became popular after appearing in a pepsi commercial with ranbir kapoor and Sanjay dutt.
• She has appeared in a commercial with the actor Aamir khan for Titan watches.
• Fernandez is also the brand ambassador of nestle's brand Maggi and Lux in srilanka.
• In 2013, she beacame the ambassador of HTC ONE which she endorses in india.
• She was also chosen as the face of the Indian bridal fashion week of 2013.
