Micheal joseph jackson( 29 Aug 1958 - June 25, 2009) was an american singer , song-writer, dancer , bussinessman and philanthrophist.
Often referred to by the honorofic name "king of pop" or by his initials MJ.
jackson is recognised as the most successful of all time by Guinness world records. His contributions to music , dance , and fashion along with his publicized personnel life, made him a global figure in the popular culture for over four decades.
- The eighth child of jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene along with his brothers as a member of the jackson 5 in 1964.
- And began his solo career in 1971.
- In the early 1980's jackson became the dominant figure in popular music.
- The music videos for his songs , including those of billie jeans, beat it , Thriller were credited with breaking down the racial barriers and transforming the medium in to an art form and promotional tool.
- The popularity of these videos helped to bring the then relatively new television channel MTV to fame.
- With videos such as "Black or white" , "Scream" and he continued to innovate the medium throughout the 1990's.
- As well as forging a reputation as a touring solo artist.
- Jackson popularized a number of complicated dance techniques such as robot and moon walk , to which he gave the name.
- His distinctive sound and style has influenced numerous hip hop, post-disco, contemporary R&B, pop, and rock artists.
- jackson's death triggered a global outpouring of grief and a live broadcast of his public memorial service was viewed around the world.
Life & career :
1958-75 : Early life & jackson 5
- jackson had a troubled relationship with his father, joe.
- Joseph acknowleged in 2003 that he regularly whipped jackson as a boy.
- Jackson stated that he was physically and emotionally abused during incesstant rehearseals, though he also credited his father's strict discipline with playing a large role in his success.
- The jackson 5 began a cutting edge example of black crossover artists , five working class black boys with afros and bellbottoms and they really didn't have to trade any of that stuff inorder to became mainstream stars.
- The group sales began declining in 1973, and the band members chaffed under mowtown's strict refusal to allow them creative control or input.
- Although they scored several top 40 hits .
- Including the top 5 disco single "Dancing Machine" and the top 20 hit "I am love" , the jackson 5 left motown in 1975.
2000-03: label dispute , invincible and third child:
- In 2002, Micheal jackson won his 22 american music award for Artist of the century.
- In the same year , Micheal jackson third child prince micheal jackson II was born.
- The mother's identity is unknown, but jackson said that the child was the result of artificial insemination from a surrogate mother on his own sperm.
- On Nov 20 of that year Micheal jackson brought his infant son on to the balocony of his room and at hotel adlon in berlin as fans stood below.

Death and memorial :
- On june 25, 2009 jackson died while in his bed at his rented mansion at 100 north carolwood drive in the Holmby hills district of los angeles.

- The jackson family foundation in conjunction with voice plate presented forever micheal an event bringing together jackson's family members,celebrities, fans , supporters and the community to celebrate and honor his legacy.
- A portion of the proceeds were presented to some of jackson's favourite charities.

- In 2012, in an attempt to end family public feuding, jackson's brother jermine jackson retracted his signature on a letter,made public criticizing executors of micheal jacksons estate and his mother's adversers concerning the legitimacy of his brother's will.
