Edward Micheal Bear grylls Born 7 June 1974 is a bristish adventurer and Television presenter.He is best known for his television series Man Vs Wild, known as born survivor for the United kingdom. In July 2009, Grylls was appointed the youngest ever cheif scout at the age of 35.
Personal life :
- Grylls grew up in Donaghadee in county down ,Northern Ireland.
- Untill the age of 4 , his family moved to Bembridge on Isle of wight.
- He is the son of Late conservative party politician Sir Micheal grylls , lady grylls was the daughter of Patricia ford briefly an Ulster Unionist party MP and cricketer and bussinessman Neville ford.
- Grylls has one sibling , an elder sister Lara fawcett , a cardio-tennis coach who gave him the nick name Bear when he was a week old.
- Grylls married shara cannings knight in 2009.
- They have three sons : Jesse , Marmaduke, and Huckleberry.
Army service :
- After leaving school, grylls briefly considered joining indian army and hiked in the Himalayan mountains of sikkim.
- Grylls joined the Territorial Army and served as the reservist with the Artists Rifles 21 Regiment 21 SAS(R) , for three years 1996.
- In 2004, grylls was awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant commander in the Royal naval reserve.
- Grylls appeared in the televison work with an appearance in an advertisement for sure deodorant, feauturing its ascent of Mount Everest.
- Grylls going from Bush to Bash.
- He also has marketed the Alpha course , a course on the basis of Christian faith.
- In 2013, Grylls appeared in the airline safety video for Air New Zeland entitled bear essential for safety.
- Filmed against the backdrop of the Routeburn track on the Southern trip of New zealand south Island.
Worst case scenario:
- In 2013, Grylls came out with a new project entitled worst case scenario which aired on Discovery on USA.
- It is based on the popular books of same name.
- Twelve episodes were produced before the show was cancelled.
Bear's wild weekend :
- In 2011, he made a two-episode special titled bear's wild weekend for channel 4 in the UK which was broadcast over the Christmas holiday.
- It featured grylls taking Jonathan ross and miranda hart on short adventures.
Get out Alive :
- Get out Alive with bear grylls premiered on NBC on 8th July 2013.

Everest:
- In May 16,1998 he climbed to the summit of mount everest .
- 18 months after breaking three vertebrae in parachute accident.
- The record was subsequently surpassed by Jake meyer and then Rob gauntlett summiting at age 19.
Northwest passage expedition :
- In august 2010, grylls lead a team of 5 to take an ice breaking rigid inflatable boat through 2,500 miles of the ice strewn northwest passage.
- The expedition intended to raise awareness of the effects of global warming and to raise money for children's charity Global angels.
Chief Scout:
- On may 17,2009, the scout association announced he would be appointed chief scout following the end of peter Duncan's five year term in July 2009.
- He is the 10th person to hold the position and the youngest chief scout since the role was created for robert baden - powell in 1920.
Charities :
- Grylls is an ambassador for the Prince's trust ,an organisation which provides training, financial , and practical to the young people in Uk.
- He is also Vice president for the Jolt trust , a small charity that takes disabled, disadvantaged , abused or neglected young people on challenging month-long expeditions.
- Following the incident he appeared in the Newzealand advertisements encouraging people to donate money to help rebuild the city.
Other work :
- Outside of TV, grylls works as a motivational speaker , giving speeches to worldwide corporations , churches , schools and other organisations .
- He is also a spokesman for and owner of juice plus franchise .
- Grylls has his own outdoor survival clothing range produced by british manufacturer craghoppers as well as a series of knifes and survival equipment manufactured by gerber.
